One Tooth, Two Tooth, Old Tooth, New Tooth

Margo Anne lost her first tooth this past Friday, March 13! We have been expecting this for awhile, as it has been loose since the Christmas holidays, and she has been wiggling it incessantly and showing us all the neat tricks and formations of which it was surprisingly capable. It was still quite a surprise to find her less one tooth on Friday afternoon! She convinced the Tooth Fairy to let her hang on to her prized possesion long enough to show all of her friends at school on Monday.

Low and behold, she lost ANOTHER tooth on Sunday night! So, her friends were treated to the viewing of two said teeth, by the proud and now previous owner. I have to admit that on that quiet, carefree, Christmas break day when she first realized (a bit horrified, I recall) that her tooth was loose, some tears came to my eyes...it all happens so quickly...our little girl, whose first teeth JUST came in for the first time, I could swear...is growing up so quickly.

Pool Time

Even though the weather has been rather unpredicatable, we have been doing lots of swimming lately. Margo Anne and Clay are getting so comfortable in the water and are showing quite an interest in "swimming laps!" Anytime they show interest, I sneak in a mini-swimming lesson...Ha, Ha! Margo Anne is fond of the backstroke and breaststroke; while, Clay is picking up freestyle quickly. Maybe swim team is in our future?!?!? We took a few shots, then were told that cameras aren't allowed, so the next swimming photos posted will be in the hot days of summer.

From the 20's to the 70's!

The very weekend after all the snowfall, it was in the 70's! We took advantage of this and went hiking at the nature center, then down to the river park for a picnic and lots of outdoor playtime.

Snow in the South

We were treated to a glorious, snow-filled Sunday a couple of weeks ago! Margo Anne had no trouble remembering how to build a snow man...she was out the door in a flash, rolling up leafy, grassy, icy snowballs! Clay had no interest in that nonsense...he only had one thing on his mind...targeting us with snowballs! He would gather up a handful of snow, run up to us, get a goofy grin on his face, then FIRE! We wrapped up the day with a warm bath, sticky, sweet, delicious hot chocolate, and a crackling fire in the fireplace. Missing school the next day was only a fleeting hope, as all the snow disappeared promptly in the brisk wind. Maybe next year we will have a snow day on a school day!

I was lucky enough to be visiting Jess and her beautiful new baby in the midst of this snowfall, so I took advantage of my trip and got to snap a few fun pictures, too!

So eager to get OUTSIDE!

Yummy hot chocolate...

A warm fire and snuggly jammies...

Getting a Little Silly

It's been quite some time since we have updated our blog! So, here's an attempt to catch up a bit (and hopefully remain caught up)...we'll see. Easier said than done, at least until summer rolls around again. Here are some pictures of the kiddos having a blast with J.J., Evelyn and Baby Truxtun, who will be joining in the romp-around sooner than we think!

Merry Christmas to All!

Some funny shots of Christmas card pictures gone terribly wrong...

You mean you were serious that we are having our pictures taken today???

Dad! THAT was supposed to make me smile?!?

Alright, enough is enough!

I guess an hour and 100 pictures later...they were still not amused!

Happy 3rd Birthday, Clay!

Our sweet "little" guy turned THREE today, Thanksgiving Day. We are so thankful to have him in our lives...he is a ray of sunshine in our home each day. He continues to be such a kind, gentle, joyful little soul, who makes us laugh all the time. We celebrated today with Grammy and PaPa, will celebrate again tomorrow with Grandma, Granddaddy and Clay's cousins, and the celebration will continue on Sunday, when we take a "Polar Express" train ride in north Georgia...he loves trains right now, so we look forward to this experience with him. More birthday celebration pictures to follow after the weekend.
