Mean ol' Scorpion

Clay met a "mean ol'scorpion" on Memorial Day morning. It was in our house! He picked it up and got stung. After many conversations with nurses and doctors, we were assured that scorpions in the Southeast are not poisonous (thank goodness), so a little Benadryl did the trick in helping Clay feel better...he was a little woozy, though, for our wonderful lunch with Grammy, Papa and Auntie Lorna, visitng from Massachusetts.

Clay and Papa enjoy some snuggle time.

A Canoe Trip

We took advantage of our beautiful springtime weather this weekend and went boating! It was Clay's first time on a boat and he had a blast. He had fun helping Daddy paddle. Margo Anne particularly enjoyed the horses that we saw on the ranch across the river. No boat ride is complete without getting wet and muddy in the river, of course, and the little ones did just that!

Spring Break Fun

We are just tickled pink to be on spring break! We stayed in town this year and had the opportunity to visit with many friends that we don't see as often as we would like to during the busy school year. We have totally enjoyed staying up late and sleeping in, staying in our jammies until mid-afternoon, and spending much time outdoors going for walks and visiting new parks (despite the endless pollen here in the South!).

We had a great opportunity to have a playdate with many folks with whom I used to teach. It was amazing seeing everyone again, some after several years, with all of their children! The day was perfect...great park, fabulous weather and fun company. I hope we are able to do this again soon.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

May your heart be light and happy,
May your smile be big and wide,
And may your pockets always have
a coin or two inside!

Always remember to forget
The troubles that passed away.
But never forget to remember
The blessings that come each day.

May neighbors respect you,
Trouble neglect you,
The angels protect you,
And heaven accept you.

May you have the hindsight to know where you've been,
The foresight to know where you are going,
And the insight to know when you have gone too far.

Margo Anne is Four Years Old!

Margo Anne clebrated her 4th birthday at the end of January! We celebrated at the Little Gym. She is getting to be such a big girl and she is so much fun to spend time with. She has quite an imagination and loves to play with her "animal friends" when we spend time at home. She loves books and has become quite a fan of "The Hobbit," after I found a book and read-aloud record from when I was a child. She continues to enjoy her ballet classes, and has recently begun dancing at a new studio. After Christmas, Margo Anne began attending a new school, which she loves, and has met many new friends. She goes to school three days per week and enjoys the other two days with her Grammy and PaPa.

Clay...The King of Tumbling!

Clay finished up his second round of tumbling classes at the end of January. He has no fear and loves running, jumping, flipping, forward-rolling and walking on the high-beam!

Winter Wonderland

Margo Anne and Clay finally got to see SNOW!

We had snowball fights...

Did some taste tests and experiments about how fast it would melt indoors...

Even Lucy joined in the fun!

We built a "cool" snowman...at night!

We just had a blast...

In this fluffy, white stuff they call SNOW...

maybe we'll see more again soon...we hope so!
